A day of such magnitude passes on so anonymously, its simply amazing. The day marked the beginning of the most horrific and gruesome genocide perpetuated by modern man 16 years ago. It also had far reaching consequences in the great lakes region, some of which we still experience today.

But alas, business as usual. Surprised though we should not be.Of the 30 most widely published and extensively read books on the Rwanda's Genocide, 28 are by white people. The other two are shared by Prof Mamood Mamdani (An "African of Indian descent and the Rwandese manager of Hotel Mille Collines Paul Rusesabagina.

Same applies to books on the Northern Conflict in Uganda.

A conflagration of such magnitude should ideally be extensively researched by local scholars and academics, with the objective of identifying its causes and  articulating informed solutions, but that would be asking  too much from the Homosapien that inhabits the lands South of the Sahara... teheheheh.

The other day I was in Kibaale for a week. Not a single newspaper is sold in the entire district that hosts over 250,000 Banyoro and Bakiga.

Henry Murton Stanley systmatically documented is daily experiences as he treked into the heart of Africa in the 1860's. His memoirs are archived in the Museum of the Royal Geographical Society in London.

When Commandante Ernesto Che Guevara de la Serna was in the Congo fighting along side Kabila, one of his biggest daily challenges was medicine for his inhaler (he was a severe ashmatic) and finding paper to write on..As a compulsive writer in his diary, he noted that Congolese had no use for paper or pen!!!!! tehehehe...

Tehehehe,  I know deep down there in my heart that We Africans are simply different...tehehehe, in our own way
